How to install ASPmail on a Windows 2003 Server

The following article explains how to install ASPMail on a Windows server. ASPMail is a component created by ServerObjects Inc. used to send email messages to one or more recipients using ASP code within your website. The component can either be requested during the inital setup of your server or needs to be purchased from ServerObjects.

More information about this can be found at http://serverobjects.com/products.htm. The component is first installed on the server and then pages are created that contain the necessary ASP code.

To install the ASPMail on a Windows 2000/2003 Server, please follow these steps:

  1. Purchase the license and download the component to the server.
  2. Unzip the component files into a temporary directory on your server.
  3. Copy the smtpsvg.dll file to the system32 directory usually located in c:\windows or c:\winnt.
  4. Open up a command prompt window.
  5. Change directory to the system32 directory by typing cd\windows\system32 or cd\winnt\system32.
  6. Register the ASPMail Component by typing regsvr32 smtpsvg.dll.
  7. Type exit to close the command prompt window.

You can now use the ASPMail component in your Active Server Pages. Please go here for information about creating your ASPMail page
