Ausweb’s reseller cPanel® installations all incorporate the “Branding Editor”, allowing you to easily customise the look and feel of the cPanel® to further enhance your business’s profile. This tutorial will give you a basic guide on how easy this is to perform.

Custom Branding your WHM cPanel: x3

Overview

Ausweb’s reseller cPanel® installations all incorporate the “Branding Editor”, allowing you to easily customise the look and feel of the cPanel® to further enhance your business’s profile. You can edit many different aspects of the presentation and layout of your cPanel® including adding custom headers to add that extra touch of professionalism. You can then set your new custom style to be the default for all accounts hosted under your reseller plan.

Create Your Customised cPanel Style

It is highly recommended that you follow these steps carefully so that you always have a non-edited style to revert back should something go wrong with your new style.

We also strongly recommend you DO NOT directly edit any of the preinstalled “Official cPanel Styles”. These styles are automatically updated whenever any cPanel updates are applied and therefore you may lose any customisations applied to them.

Steps:

  1. Once logged into your reseller cPanel®, select the “Branding Editor” from the preferences section. This will show you all default styles that have been preinstalled.
  2. Select the “Create/Upload Branding” button.
  3. Give your custom style a name and then select “Create” to add it the list of styles available.
  4. Select “Go Back to Editing (custom style)”.
  5. You should now be on the “Edit Branding Style“ page and be able to see the options you have the ability to customise. Please note that all images used must be either of the gif, jpg, or png file types.
  6. To edit any of the items listed, select the appropriate item and you will be taken to its edit page. On the edit pages you will see all of the items that can be replaced with your custom images. Use the browse buttons to locate the file you would like to upload. Note: when choosing your images be careful to maintain the sizes as listed. If you don’t upload images with the same pixel dimensions as each item states your custom cPanel will not display correctly.
  7. Once you have located all the necessary files, scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Upload Images”.
  8. Once the files have finished uploading, select “Go Back to branding Editor”.
  9. You should now see your new custom style listed and ready to use.
  10. For an example of a customised cPanel, check out the image below.

Setting Your New Style as the Default

Now that you have created your customised style you can apply it to all of your accounts and set it as the default by using the buttons below the thumbnail. You can change anything within your custom style at anytime by simply choosing the “Edit Style” option and repeating the steps above.

To prevent your clients from being able to change the cPanel style and force the use of your custom style, disable the “Change Style” option in your reseller WHM’s Feature Manager. This will disable your client’s access to the “Change Style” option in their cPanel therefore keep your custom style in tact.

Advanced Editing Features

There are also a number of advanced editing features that allow you to create custom HTML pages and also customise the CSS files used by your cPanel. We do not recommend modifying these files unless you are experienced in HTML/CSS editing. Adapting these files can have quite a major impact on your cPanel and incorrect files could result in very unpredictable display results.
